The Town of Whiteville was founded in the early 1800's as a trading post and was incorporated in 1901. The town was first known for it's agricultural roots in cotton production. Now the town is known as one of the fastest growing communities in the area. The town's location is ideal for persons wanting to escape the "big city" way of life as it is conveniently located between Jackson and Memphis Tennessee.

What We Do

The town provides it's citizens many amenities with a low tax rate. The Town of Whiteville is a Three Star Award Winning community and has one of the few "Deal Ready" industrial sites. The town provides services such as a fully staffed City Hall, a full time Police Department, Fire Protection Services provided by the Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department, Water Department, Street Department, Sanitation Department, Parks and Recreations Department. The town also enjoys providing a space for the Senior Lunch Program and local clubs to meet. The town also provides a full time libary with free computer access to the public.
