The Whiteville City Hall is fully staffed with three full time employees and handles all city services including water bills, tax collection, traffic citations, city permits and several other services. The Whiteville Police Department provides 24 hour protection for its citizens with a staff of ten full time Tennessee POST certified Police Officers. The Police Department is commanded by Steven Stanley, Chief of Police and is made up of a patrol division, a criminal investigations division and a narcotic investigations division.  The Whiteville Fire Department consist of twenty one volunteer fireman who answer a variety of calls to include, structure fires, grass fires, car fires, accidents and other rescue call outs. The Fire Department also has a First Responder unit that answers all types of medical emergencies. The Whiteville Street Department is responsible for maintaining city streets, bulk trash collection and maintaince of all city properties. The street department has four full time employees and three seasonal part-time employees. The Lee Ola Roberts Library is named after Ms. Roberts who donated the building that houses the library to the town. The library is a full services library and has eleven public computers for the citizens to use. The library has one full time and one part time employees and is open Monday thru Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm.
